“What is the biggest moment you have experienced that has changed your life?”

When I was diagnosed with lung cancer in April 2009.  It really made me take a good look at my life and appreciate all that I have and my family and friends!

“If you were limited to having only one electrical outlet in your home, what device would you plug into it?”

That’s hard.  My first thought was my computer.  Then I started  thinking – oh crap – what about cooking?  And the refrigerator?  They both need electricity.   Hmmmm – not sure about this one!

Write about something you don’t like doing, but you do it anyway.

I, honestly, don’t like cleaning the house.  I never have and probably never will.  I do it because I like a clean house, lol.  If I ever won the lottery my dream would be to hire someone to clean my house.

For what would you like to be remembered after you have gone? If you died tomorrow, what could they put on your gravestone?

I’d like to be remembered as a loving caring person who valued those for whom she loved.   On my gravestone they could put “she lived, she loved, she died”.

What do you do to let others know you love them?
What do others do that make you feel loved?

One thing I do is tell them.  I have no problem saying I love you to the people I love.  I also like to give hugs.  And I try to let them know how much I appreciate them.

To be perfectly honest – I don’t often “feel” loved although I must be or my family wouldn’t put up with me.  LOL

What do you like best and least about where you live?

Ah this is an easy one.  I love living on a lake.  It’s so peaceful and nature is all around us.  One of the best things are my neighbors.  I have wonderful neighbors.  What I like least is the fact that we’re 20 miles from town.  There are 2 very small (expensive) gas stations that carry a small inventory of stuff closer – one is 3 miles away and the other is 7 miles away but a trip to town to get grocerys, go to drugstore, etc takes usually half a day by the time you get back.

What did you study in school, or what was a favorite subject?
Did you receive your education somewhere other than school?

In high school I took all college prep courses because I always planned to go to college.  High school was easy for me and I loved school although I wasn’t very popular.  I was too much of a ‘nerd’ I guess but I did have friends.  Art classes were my favorites.  After high school I enrolled at Clemson University majoring in Architecture.  My dream was to be an architect and design buildings which my daddy (who was a builder) would then build.  In retrospect I wish I had just majored in art and become a commercial artist.  Architecture was extremely hard.  First of all at that time Clemson had not been coed for many years so there were 2700 male students and 300 female students.  In the School of Architecture the freshman class included 2 females of which I was one so in many of my classes I was the only girl in the class.  Very intimidating for someone as self conscience as I was at that time.  I lived on campus in a dorm and attended classes 6 days a week, Monday thru Friday 8am – 5pm and on Saturday 8am – noon.  In addition I was usually back at the lab working on projects every night so I had very little free time.  Plus the fact that in high school I never learned how to study because it was so easy for me so I was really struggling in college.  In the middle of my second semester one of my lungs collapsed and I missed 3 weeks of school.  I got so far behind that I decided to drop out of school and go back in the fall and change my major.  Of course I got a full time job, bought a car and never went back full time.  Over the years I’ve taken various classes at local colleges and even some over the internet but I’ve always regreted not going back to college and finishing.
