Falling in Love Monday September 4, 2006

Well, I fell in love this weekend. With our 20 month old grand daughter, Katie. My stepdaughter, Candy, moved to California about 8 years ago, met Kenny and got married and had Katie in December 2004. They just recently moved back to North Carolina and they came down and spent this weekend with us. It was the first time we got to meet Kenny and darling Katie. Oh my goodness. She is such a sweetheart. She loves the water, loved going on the boat, loved riding on the ATVs and is so smart. I’m sure she loves her Nana as much as I love her. <grin> I took lots of pictures and will post some here maybe tomorrow.

My dear friend, Kathy, and her husband arrived Saturday June 3rd for a week's visit with us. It's so good to see and be with Kathy. I hadn't seen her since last Thanksgiving altho we do talk on the phone just about every day. We've been having lots of fun. Monday we all rode 4-wheelers for a couple of hours and yesterday we took a boat ride for about 3 hours. Today we're taking them into 'town'. Since they've been here I haven't had much time to spend on the computer but that's okay too. I'll have more time later when no one is here. They leave on Saturday and Traci and Chris come in on Sunday. Never a dull moment when Traci is around.

My sister, Kay and her husband, Nodir, arrived early yesterday morning. It's good to see Kay again. I haven't seen her since the end of December. I decided to take the Seadoo out for a spin to make sure it was running okay before they went for a ride. To make a long story short, I let a rope get sucked up into the propeller. I thought I had ruined the Seadoo. But Charlie, with Nodir's help, was able to take the whole back end of the Seadoo apart and get the rope out. Thank goodness! But that kinda took up a good part of the day. It does run okay now – I took it for a test drive after they fixed it. I love riding the Seadoo but this weekend there are so many boats and personal water crafts on the lake and it makes the water very bumpy. I prefer it when the water is smooth.
It's extremely hot here lately. We've been in the low to mid 90s for several days and no rain. We need rain badly.

Yesterday I had to drive to Sparta, then to Sandersville and then back home, a loop that was 95 miles. What fun! lol
Charlie's shop is finished so soon he'll start building the built-ins for my computer room. It'll be nice when he gets them done. Then I'll have some storage space in here and can empty the boxes that came out of our old computer room of all my computer stuff and all my craft stuff.
The baby geese are down to 2 now. Although I don't like them pooping in my yard I don't want to see all the babies disappear.
When we went for a ride on the ATVs last Sunday we saw an eagle's nest that has some babies in it – they would stick their heads out. The nest is on top of this huge power tower thingy.
My sister, Kay, and her grandaughter are coming for Memorial Day weekend and then Kathy and Tony will come the weekend after that. I'm looking forward to seeing all of them. It's been a while since we've had any visitors. And a friend of mine from Ohio is suppose to come for a day. I haven't seen her in a long time.
